Why is AV good enough for the tories to elect *their* leaders, but not for us?

AV is a terrible system; if you vote for someone it is because you should believe in their policies it should be rare that another party is just as good as another. for example if you vote for labour why would you really think that conservatives are ok? unfortunately every big party these days is centre right so its impossible to tell them apart as they are all the same!
